how do I get my picture taken?

Our current approach is that we 'recruit' interesting people in local bars, restaurants or by referrals from friends. We want to make sure that the person trusts us and we can trust the person. For the same reason we are going to request a meeting prior to a photo shoot at a small cafe to introduce us, talk about ideas and to see how we can help each other.

Once both sides agreed on the terms and think that they want to work with each other, we will schedule an appointment and take your picture. This process can take 30 minutes or several hours depending what kind of result you want to have.

Our preferred length for an appointment is around 2h, since this gives you enough time to relax and us enough time to try several setups with you and provide you with a variety of results.

If you have special requests, please bring a couple of example shot's to the initial meeting, so that we can tell you what we can do and how likely it is that we can do something similar.

what do we use for our pictures

Basically we use the tool we need to get the job done and don't believe that you need the latest and greatest camera on the market. It is much more important that we know what we are doing and how to archive the best results.

If you are interested in portraits up to 20x30 inch printable size we will use a modern digital Nikon camera and provide you with great results. And can provide the look you are after or tell you before that we can't do this. You just need to show us some pictures so we have an idea what kind of shoot do you expect.

If you are interested in poster sized pictures we will use Mamiya Medium format cameras or large format cameras to get this done. But for this service we have to charge extra money since this kind of film is very expensive and we have to make sure that we break even, just in case you don't like the results and wont buy any of the pictures. Not that we believe that this will be the case.

We are using photoshop similar software for our post processing, but strongly believe that you need to get the picture right in the camera. Since you can't make good stuff out of bad stuff.
If you are after this highly processed artificial look which is so modern today, sorry we can't help you there.
